What a salary slip should contain

A payslip is the proof of salary your employees use for loans, visas, rent agreements and new jobs, so it needs more than just a net figure. This generator includes each of these:

SectionWhat it shows
Employer detailsCompany name, address, logo, PAN and GSTIN
Employee detailsName, employee ID, designation, department, PAN, UAN and bank account (masked)
Pay periodThe month and year the salary slip covers
EarningsBasic salary, HRA, conveyance, special and custom allowances
DeductionsProvident fund, professional tax, income tax (TDS) and any custom deductions
Net payGross earnings minus total deductions, in figures and in words
FooterA note that the payslip is computer generated, and a signature line

In India, paying wages against a wage slip is part of the Payment of Wages Act, 1936 and the state Shops and Establishments rules, so keep a copy of every payslip you issue. For the exact rules that apply to your company, check with your accountant.

How the deductions are calculated

  • Provident fund: the tool applies 12% of the basic salary by default, which is the usual employee EPF contribution. Change the PF rate, or set it to 0 if the employee is not covered.
  • Professional tax: a state tax, so the amount differs by state (₹200 per month in many states, and none at all in some). The default is ₹200.
  • Income tax (TDS): depends on the employee’s tax regime, declarations and investments, so the generator uses a monthly figure that you can replace with the amount from your payroll calculation.
  • Custom deductions: add anything else, such as a salary advance, loan EMI or canteen charges, with your own label.

The generator does the arithmetic for you, but the responsibility for the final figures stays with whoever runs your payroll.

Download the payslip as a PDF

Click Download PDF in the preview. The download uses your browser’s print dialog, so if you see the page URL or a date printed on the payslip, turn off Headers and footers in that dialog and save again:

Browser print dialog with the Headers and footers option unchecked so the payslip PDF prints without extra text
Uncheck Headers and footers for a clean payslip PDF.

Need to send the payslip securely? You can add a password to the PDF before you email it.

Add your company logo

On the first step, use Upload Logo to add a JPG or PNG up to 2 MB. The logo appears at the top of the payslip next to your company name, which makes the salary slip look like an official company document rather than a generic template.

Is this payslip generator safe to use?

  • No account: there is no sign-up, login or email needed.
  • Nothing is saved here: the payslip is built in your browser, and the salary details you type are not sent to this website or stored on it.
  • Free with no watermark: the downloaded payslip carries your company name and logo, not ours.
  • Unlimited payslips: change the employee details and month, then generate the next salary slip.
